Vladimir Putin met at the Kremlin with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, who is in Russia on a state visit.
The official welcome ceremony took place at the Grand Kremlin Palace’s St George Hall. The two leaders then held talks.
After the one-on-one meeting, the talks continued with the two countries’ delegations taking part.
Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping concluded their talks by approving a joint declaration on mutually advantageous cooperation and deepening the two countries’ comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation.
The two presidents also oversaw the signing of a package of bilateral documents intended to further expand the countries’ strategic partnership, including agreements on oil production and refining, pipeline gas supplies, exploring coal deposits, on electricity and non-ferrous metals.
Agreements in the insurance, banking, and investment sectors were also signed, as were agreements on travel between the two countries and combating illegal migration.
