Vladimir Putin held a briefing with Russia’s Security Council members

Russia’s socio-economic development, global economic situation, and the situation in the Middle East were the main subjects of discussion.

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev briefed the participants on his trip to the Russian Far East, and in this context the Security Council members looked at preparations for the upcoming APEC summit in Vladivostok.

An exchange of views took place on Russia’s participation in the Farnborough Air Show in Britain.

Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Mikhail Fradkov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev, and permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
