Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order on the acting governor of Vladimir Region the previous day.

The meeting, the Commission’s 29^th so far, addressed the issue of making the research and development support system more effective in order to better pursue modernisation and innovative development.

Dmitry Medvedev held a joint session of the Council for Culture and the Arts and the Council for Science, Technology and Education devoted to preparations for celebrating the 1150^th anniversary of Russian statehood.

Dmitry Medvedev and Nikolai Vinogradov discussed problems in preserving and restoring architectural monuments, possible transfer of buildings considered historical monuments to private ownership, and prospects for developing tourism in Vladimir Region, as well as national tourism overall.
