The President signed Executive Order On Acting Governor of the Rostov Region.

Vladimir Putin had a meeting with Yury Slyusar, who was appointed Acting Governor of the Rostov Region by a Presidential Executive Order.

After completing his official visit to Kazakhstan, Vladimir Putin landed in Rostov-on-Don and visited the Southern Military District headquarters.

Vladimir Putin took part, via videoconference, in the opening ceremony of a motorway bypassing the town of Aksai in the Rostov Region and a remote lateral road to the west of the city of Krasnodar in the Krasnodar Territory.

The Rostov Region Governor informed the President, via videoconference, about the region’s socio-economic performance.

Vladimir Putin visited Mariupol, inspected the progress in city restoration and improvement works, and spoke with local residents.

Presidential Aide and Chairman of the Council for Cossack Affairs Anatoly Seryshev took part in celebrations hosted in the Rostov Region to mark the 450^th anniversary of Don Cossacks’ service to Russia. 

The President held a working meeting with Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev via videoconference. The region’s head informed the President about the socioeconomic situation in the region.

Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev briefed the President, via videoconference, on measures taken in the region to counter the coronavirus infection and described the current socioeconomic situation.

Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting of the State Council Presidium in Rostov-on-Don on developing the industrial capacity of Russian regions.

During a video conference, Vladimir Putin launched the fourth power unit of the Rostov Nuclear Power Plant into operation. The startup of the new power unit marked the beginning of additional power generation for the national grid.

Vladimir Putin learned about the enterprise’s activities, toured the tractor and harvester assembly floors and looked over some of the plant’s finished products.

On the way from Platov airport to the company Rostselmash, Vladimir Putin’s helicopter flew around a sports complex built for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The President inspected Rostov Arena and adjacent facilities from the air.

As part of his working trip to Rostov-on-Don, Vladimir Putin inspected Platov International Airport located 30 km away from the city and commissioned in December 2017.

Last night, Vladimir Putin arrived in Anapa after his working visit to Hungary to hold a meeting with the Emergencies Minister and the heads of the Volgograd and Rostov regions, where destructive fires took place recently.

Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disasters Relief Vladimir Puchkov reported to the President by telephone about the progress being made in fighting wildfires and their consequences in the Volgograd Region and Rostov-on-Don. The Minister did not rule out the possibility of arson.
