Maria Lvova-Belova and Commissioners for Children's Rights of the Lugansk People's Republic and the Donetsk People's Republic sign a Protocol of Intent

During a working trip to the Voronezh Region, Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights Maria Lvova-Belova and her colleagues from the Lugansk and Donetsk people's republics took part in a ceremony to sign a Protocol of Intent in the field of protecting the rights and interests of children.

The document was an extension of obligations under the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Donetsk People's Republic and the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Lugansk People's Republic. It addresses the protection of the rights and legally protected interests of children in the three states based on the principles of equality and respect for sovereignty.

Before signing the Protocol, the Commissioner visited a temporary accommodation centre for families with minors, orphans and children left without parental care who arrived in the region from Donbass, and became acquainted with the living conditions and organisation of the educational process.

Maria Lvova-Belova also discussed the situation with temporarily displaced residents of the DPR and LPR with Alexander Gusev, Governor of the Voronezh Region, which has received more than 1,500 children from Donbass in 67 temporary accommodation centres.
