Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino held the first meeting of the Organising Committee for the Preparation and Celebration of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s 200th anniversary to be marked in 2021.
The Organising Committee, comprised of leading researchers of Dostoyevsky’s work, heads of memorial museums and representatives of the Russian regions connected with the writer’s life, approved a list of key cultural heritage objects and the main events of the upcoming celebration.
Preparations for celebrating Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s 200th anniversary are being carried out in accordance with a Presidential Executive Order dated August 24, 2016, and the President’s instructions following a joint meeting of the Council for Culture and Art and the Council on the Russian Language held on December 2, 2016.
