Meeting of State Council Commission on Education

Presidential Aide, State Council Secretary Igor Levitin and Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev chaired a videoconference meeting of the State Council Commission on Education.

Taking part in the meeting were Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolayev, Kirov Region Governor Alexander Sokolov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia Artem Zdunov, Chair of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova, Chair of the State Duma Committee on Education Olga Kazakova, federal and regional representatives, municipal officials, and businesspeople.

In his opening remarks, Igor Levitin noted that amid conditions of sanctions pressure and external threats during the special military operation, the transformation of the system of secondary vocational education (SVE) should consider the needs of the Russian economy for the accelerated development of domestic industry

Chair of the State Council Commission on Education Mikhail Razvozhayev informed the meeting participants about the increased interest of schoolchildren in working professions, as well as the measures taken to train personnel for the needs of priority industry sectors due to the focus on import substitution.

Representatives of the regions and the business community in their speeches touched upon the active involvement of employers in the educational process in the preparation of highly qualified personnel and the broad introduction of advanced training methods for priority industries.

There was also a discussion on the implementation of the Professionalitet federal project. Proposals for improving the regulatory framework were also discussed.

Igor Levitin instructed the meeting participants to work out the issue of training personnel for priority industries in today’s conditions and to formulate specific proposals for inclusion in the report for the meeting of the State Council.
