Following the SCO summit, Dmitry Medvedev answered questions from Russian journalists.

Opening the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev noted that the shipbuilding industry needs to undergo more intensive technological modernisation in order to meet the domestic market’s demands and expand exports.

Dmitry Medvedev announced that he has signed the Executive Order on developing the United Shipbuilding Corporation, which will see the transfer of participation stakes in some enterprises, shares and other properties to the corporation for operational management.

Addressing the international forum Drug Production in Afghanistan: A Challenge to the International Community, which opened today in Moscow, Dmitry Medvedev said that he has approved the Russia’s National Drug Control Strategy to 2020.

Dmitry Medvedev criticised the Government Cabinet’s work to fulfil his instructions concerning the preparation of the Federal Targeted Programmes (FTPs), stating that the process, which involves 12 programmes and subprogrammes, goes slowly, while the key problem is that there is no proper coordination of this work.

Dmitry Medvedev made this statement at the meeting on organisation of summer holidays for children and teenagers, adding that this work should be made part of the regions’ socio-economic development programme.
