Vladimir Putin signed the Executive Order On Amending the Presidential Executive Order of the Russian Federation No. 404 On the Establishment of a Fund to Support Children in Difficult Life Situations of March 26, 2008.

During her working visit, the Children’s Rights Commissioner met with the region’s Governor, Andrei Chibis, members of the commission for juvenile affairs and heads of the bodies in the prevention system. She also visited children’s institutions and talked with large families.

Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova visited the Irkutsk Region as part of the national inspection of the social orphanhood prevention system. The Commissioner discussed proposals for supporting families in difficult life situations with Head of the region Igor Kobzev and held a meeting with heads of child neglect and juvenile delinquency prevention bodies.

Four children who had formerly resided in Ukraine have been reunited with their families living on Russian territory with the assistance of Presidential Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova and with the mediation of the State of Qatar. Nine more children have been reunited with their relatives who live on Ukrainian territory. Family reunification efforts are conducted on instructions from the President of Russia.

Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova continues to monitor the childhood sphere in the regions as part of a nationwide tour to assess the system for the prevention of social orphanhood. She visited Yakutia, and lawyers from her staff worked in the republic for a week.

The commissioner met with head of the region Vladimir Mazur, held an expanded meeting with the prevention system bodies and institutions’ senior officials, and inspected the children’s homes.

Under the chairmanship of the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova, an interagency meeting was held to discuss the organisation and implementation of a National Inspection for Social Orphanhood Prevention System.

During his trip to Kyzyl, the President visited Secondary School No 20 named after Heroes of the Fatherland and held a Talking of What Matters open lesson.

Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova visited the Saratov Region as part of the nationwide inspection of the system for preventing child abandonment. The children's ombudsman discussed with the region's Governor Roman Busargin the supporting of childhood, and together with Mr Busargin held a working meeting with the heads of agencies and institutions of the system for the prevention of child neglect and juvenile delinquency, guardianship and custody agencies.
