Dmitry Medvedev had his first bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Summit with President of the People's Republic of China Hu Jintao.

The Russian leader met with Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.

The summit’s final plenary session took place with the participation of eight heads of state and government. The agenda included key issues of international security, joint fight against terrorism and the nuclear programmes of Iran and North Korea.

This was announced by Dmitry Medvedev following his meeting with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron.

The first working meeting of G8 heads of state and government focused on key issues on the international agenda, including global development, security and the state of the global economy.

In a conversation with Presidential Aide and Chief of the Presidential Control Directorate Konstantin Chuychenko, Dmitry Medvedev discussed the implementation of instructions on supplies of medical equipment to the regions.

Meeting with the Congress leaders, Mr Medvedev said he hoped that Russian and US lawmakers would follow their countries’ executive authorities in contributing to strengthening Russian-US relations.

Dmitry Medvedev and President of the United States Barack Obama discussed bilateral economic cooperation and Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organisation.

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller informed Dmitry Medvedev over the telephone that Belarus had fully settled its overdue payments for Russian gas supplies, and gas deliveries to Belarus had been resumed.

Dmitry Medvedev approved a list of instructions issued following a meeting of the Commission for Modernisation and Technological Development of Russia's Economy of June 19, 2010.

Dmitry Medvedev met with representatives of US public organisations and academic and business circles at Stanford University.

Dmitry Medvedev oversaw the signing of an agreement of mutual understanding between the Foundation for Development for the Skolkovo Centre for Research and Commercialisation of New Technologies and Cisco Systems, Inc. regarding cooperation in developing and implementing information and communication technologies.

The President’s tour of Silicon Valley began with a visit to the offices of Twitter Incorporated.

The missile cruiser is currently in San Francisco on an unofficial friendly visit.

Dmitry Medvedev noted that California is one of the USA’s most economically advanced states and stressed Russia’s interest in promoting active contacts between Russian businesses and Silicon Valley companies to support Russia’s plans to build an innovation centre in Skolkovo.
