Vladimir Putin had a meeting with President of Abkhazia Raul Khadjimba to discuss matters of Russian-Abkhazian cooperation.

The President took part in the national conference of court chairmen of various levels, as well as heads of military and commercial courts.

In a ceremony at the Kremlin’s Catherine Hall, Vladimir Putin presented the Presidential Prize in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists. The prize was established in 2008 and is awarded for contributions to advancing Russian science and innovation and aims to encourage laureates to pursue further projects.

Vladimir Putin had a meeting with Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia Mikhail Shmakov to discuss trade unions’ proposals regarding factors that need to be considered in the anti-crisis programme that is being developed.

Vladimir Putin met with Prime Minister of Germany’s federal state of Bavaria Horst Seehofer. Mr Seehofer is in Moscow on a working visit at the invitation of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

The discussion focussed on ways of optimising the structure of federal executive bodies of power.

During the meeting, the President announced that he accepted the resignation of Tula Region Governor Vladimir Gruzdev and appointed former Deputy Defence Minister Alexei Dyumin Acting Governor of Tula Region.
