Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting of the working group to draft proposals for developing the Open Government system. The main issue discussed at the meeting was corruption.

The meeting, the Commission’s 29^th so far, addressed the issue of making the research and development support system more effective in order to better pursue modernisation and innovative development. 

Dmitry Medvedev made an address at an expanded meeting of the Defence Ministry Board. The President assessed the Armed Forces' performance in 2011 and outlined the priorities for 2012.

In Krasnodar, Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting with representatives of the international business community investing in the North Caucasus tourism cluster.

Dmitry Medvedev appointed Konstantin Kosachev director of the Russian Cooperation Agency and special presidential representative for CIS Affairs.

Issues discussed included the network's legal status, its funding, management bodies and public control over its activities.

The Ombudsman reported to Dmitry Medvedev on the number of complaints regarding human rights violations in 2011.

While on a visit to Chuvashia, Dmitry Medvedev held a State Council Presidium meeting to discuss state support measures for Russia’s gifted children and young people.
