Dmitry Medvedev chaired a meeting of the State Council Presidium on raising the regions’ role in modernisation of Russia's economy.

During his trip to Khabarovsk, Dmitry Medvedev visited the Amur Cable Plant, where he met with workers from companies in the region and United Russia party core group. 

At the gala evening, Dmitry Medvedev congratulated workers and veterans of internal affairs agencies on their professional holiday. The President also warmly thanked the Interior Ministry veterans, many of whom fought in the Great Patriotic War and were engaged in other conflicts.

Konstantin Romodanovsky briefed the President on the system of preferential conditions for highly qualified foreign specialists invited to work in Russia.

Dmitry Medvedev visited the Department of the Interior for Moscow's Akademichesky District, where he learned about the work of the Centre for Operational and Investigative Information and met with Interior Ministry officers.

At the meeting Dmitry Medvedev announced having signed a Federal Law aimed at improving the mechanism of countering legalisation (laundering) of criminal incomes and the financing of terrorism.

The Internet’s role in political and social life was among the broad range of subjects discussed at the meeting. Mr Medvedev expanded his social network presence at the meeting by opening his own page on the VKontakte Russian social network service.

Dmitry Medvedev and Angela Merkel discussed trade and economic cooperation and humanitarian ties.

In Berlin Dmitry Medvedev met with German business community leaders, including executives of Siemens, Deutsche Bank, E.ON, Ruhrgas, Metro, Knauf and others.

In Lubmin, Germany, Dmitry Medvedev and Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel took part in the launch ceremony for the first leg of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

In Berlin, Dmitry Medvedev met with President of the Federal Republic of Germany Christian Wulff.

Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Great Patriotic War veterans on the 70^th anniversary of the November 7, 1941 parade on Red Square.

Dmitry Medvedev met with representatives of the Orthodox community as part of the Tenth Church and Society Exhibition and Forum Orthodox Russia – National Unity Day.

Dmitry Medvedev toured the company’s production facilities, learning about new developments and various models of cars in production.

Speaking at an official reception marking the National Unity Day in Nizhny Novgorod, Dmitry Medvedev said that patriotism, civic spirit, and love for the Fatherland are the fundamental values that have always cemented the multi-ethnic Russian state.
