Dmitry Medvedev chaired a meeting of the Commission for the Implementation of Priority National Projects and Demographic Policy on developing school education.

Dmitry Medvedev announced his decision to submit Georgy Poltavchenko’s candidacy for the post of St Petersburg Governor for consideration by the St Petersburg Legislative Assembly.

The main subjects on the agenda at the meeting, chaired by the President, included issues of resolving environmental issues in the Volga River basin, preserving the river’s fauna and developing its fisheries, combating poaching, restoring the water system in the river’s delta, water resources protection efforts, and overhaul of hydro-technical installations.

Mr Miller briefed Dmitry Medvedev on the current state of Gazprom’s cooperation with its Ukrainian and Belarusian partners.

Dmitry Medvedev and Viktor Yanukovych discussed a wide range of bilateral and regional issues, in particular the prospects for expanding the interregional and border cooperation and the integration processes in the CIS.

The Minister briefed the President on the work to develop Russia’s digital broadcasting network.

Dmitry Medvedev presented the Order of Zhukov to the Defence Ministry’s 10^th Special Purpose Brigade. The Order of Zhukov is awarded for particular services in planning and carrying out major military operations.

Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation Nikolai Bordyuzha briefed the President on preparations for an upcoming informal CSTO summit.
