Vladimir Putin met with permanent members of the Security Council to discuss current social and economic issues on the domestic agenda and the international situation.
The meeting’s participants exchanged views on the situation in Mali and also discussed financial cooperation with a number of foreign countries that have turned to Russia with requests for economic aid.
Taking part in the meeting were Council of Federation Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Mikhail Fradkov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev, and permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
