Vladimir Putin held a briefing session with permanent members of the Security Council.
The meeting addressed the state of affairs within the nation and current issues on the international agenda. Particular attention was given to the work of the group of six international mediators working to settle the Iranian nuclear problem, preparations for Geneva II conference, and the legal regulation of immigration processes.
Participants in the meeting included Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Mikhail Fradkov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev, and Permanent Security Council Member Boris Gryzlov.
