Vladimir Putin met with permanent members of the Security Council to discuss in detail the situation in southeast Ukraine following the recent efforts to settle the conflict.
The meeting’s participants expressed grave concern over the continued extremely serious humanitarian situation in Lugansk and Donetsk.
The President briefed the meeting on the results of visits to Uzbekistan and India, describing them as productive and positive in terms of future opportunities for developing cooperation.
Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Mikhail Fradkov and permanent member of the Security Council Boris Gryzlov.
