Meeting with permanent members of the Security Council

Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the permanent members of the Security Council.

After a discussion at a meeting of the Economic Council Presidium, today’s meeting focused on further steps to stabilise the Russian economy.

Participants exchanged opinions on a number of issues related to anti-corruption measures. Other topics of an international and regional nature were also discussed.

The meeting participants also discussed preparations for the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, particularly in relation to upcoming meetings with the heads of the delegations from foreign countries and major foreign investors that have confirmed their participation at SPIEF.

Vladimir Putin introduced Dmitry Kochnev, new Head of the Federal Guard Service of the Russian Federation, to the permanent members of the Security Council.

The meeting participants included Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Mikhail Fradkov, and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev.
