Vladimir Putin held a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.
Participants in the meeting exchanged views on the situation around Palmyra, as well as the advances made by the Syrian Army in Aleppo.
The meeting featured a discussion of the upcoming visit by the President of Russia to Japan later this week, including matters that will be discussed during talks.
Participants also went over current issues related to the socioeconomic situation in Russia.
Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov and Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin.
