Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council to discuss Syria and certain issues on the domestic socioeconomic agenda.
The President updated the meeting participants about the discussions on Syria he had with foreign heads of state and government in the past few days following the recent Western airstrikes.
The council members also exchanged opinions on flood and wildfire relief efforts. During a recent meeting with Government members, the Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov reported to Vladimir Putin on measures to prevent floods and wildfires.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, and Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin.
