Vladimir Putin held a briefing session, via videoconference, with permanent members of the Security Council.
The discussion focused on the domestic socioeconomic agenda and the response to the US sanctions imposed on Russia the day before. The President also informed the meeting participants about the international telephone conversations he had had this week.
The meeting was attended by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov and Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin.
The meeting was also attended by Chief of the General Staff of Russia’s Armed Forces – First Deputy Defence Minister Valery Gerasimov.
