Issues discussed included improving workers’ financial conditions, employers’ provision of social guarantees, possible effects of Russia's further integration into the global economy on workers’ social situation, as well as social protection mechanisms and forms of organisation of the working process for new categories of workers that have emerged from the introduction of modern technologies.

Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Ratification of the Cooperation Agreement on Countering Illegal Labour Migration from Third Countries.

Dmitry Medvedev and Sergei Mitin discussed employment issues, support for basic and intermediate vocational education institutions in the region.

The Governor informed Dmitry Medvedev that radiation levels in Sakhalin, which is located near Japan, remain within the norm and and do not exceed half the safety standard. All goods delivered from Japan are thoroughly inspected. Monitoring services conduct checks and publish reports every three hours.
