Vladimir Putin met with permanent members of the Security Council.
Within the context of the settlement process in Syria, the participants exchanged views regarding preparations for the inter-Syrian talks to take place in Astana on Monday.
In connection with Vladimir Putin’s telephone conversation the previous day with German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande, the participants discussed implementation of the Minsk Agreements, noting in particular their dissatisfaction with the pace at which Kiev is implementing the agreements’ provisions.
Current matters on the domestic socioeconomic agenda were also discussed.
Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, and Special Presidential Representative for Nature Protection, the Environment and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
