Vladimir Putin held a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.
During the meeting, the President informed the participants about the results of this week's talks with German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
A detailed exchange of opinions on the Syrian settlement took place in light of the agreement on the introduction of de-escalation zones reached in Astana the day before.
Current issues of the domestic social and economic agenda were also discussed, including preparations for the upcoming Victory Day.
Attending the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
