Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.
Participants in the meeting shared their views on the situation in Syria with an emphasis on the positive developments following effective actions by the Russian Aerospace Forces in support of the Syrian Army’s advance.
Preparations for the CIS and EAEU summits to be held next week were also discussed. In addition, a number of issues of the current domestic socioeconomic agenda were raised.
The permanent members of the Security Council extended their Birthday greetings to the President.
Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov and Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin.
