Vladimir Putin had a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.
In view of the situation in Ukraine, the meeting participants exchanged opinions on the recently adopted law on Donbass. It was noted that the law could certainly have the most adverse impact on the prospects of the intra-Ukrainian settlement. The participants stressed that there is no alternative to the Minsk Agreements and the Normandy format of talks.
Another point of discussion concerned the prospects of the Syrian political resolution – specifically, the current preparations for the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi.
The agenda also included domestic social and economic issues.
Attending the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
