Vladimir Putin held a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.
The President and the permanent members of the Security Council discussed the deterioration of the situation in the northeastern of Syria.
The participants also exchanged views on the start of work of the Syrian Constitutional Committee. They noted that at this stage it is important to avoid any actions that could create obstacles to a peaceful settlement in Syria.
In addition, the attendees discussed current domestic issues. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
