Vladimir Putin held a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.
Syria settlement issues were discussed in view of the completed Syrian army’s operation on liberating Aleppo from the militants, as well as preparations for a possible meeting on Syrian settlement in Astana.
The meeting participants touched upon various issues related to the preparations for a CSTO session and a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council scheduled to be held on Monday in St Petersburg.
Attending the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
