The two presidents signed an agreement on the presence of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in Ukraine extending such presence for 25 more years, with an option of an additional 5-year extension after the term expires, if neither party chooses to terminate the agreement.

The two leaders discussed current issues on the international and regional agenda, among other topics.

Talks were held in both restricted and expanded formats.

Mr Medvedev, who arrived in Krakow to attend the funeral of President of Poland Lech Kaczyinski and his wife, met with Marshal of the Sejm and acting President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski.

Dmitry Medvedev answered questions from Russian journalists at the end of his visits to Argentina and Brazil.

The two presidents discussed primarily international affairs, including the Iranian nuclear programme.

Dmitry Medvedev and President of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner discussed projects in the most promising areas of cooperation between the two countries: Russian participation in building a nuclear power plant in Argentina, joint use of Russia’s GLONASS satellite navigation system, and Russia’s continued supply of icebreakers and helicopters for Argentine Antarctic expeditions. The two leaders also discussed diversifying bilateral trade.

The President began his official visit to Argentina by meeting with Russian and Argentine business community members. Bilateral economic cooperation was the subject of discussion.
