Presidential Aide and State Council Secretary Igor Levitin chaired a joint videoconference meeting of the State Council commissions on Industry and Transport.
The meeting was attended by Governor of the Tula Region and Head of the State Council Commission on Industry Alexei Dyumin, Head of the Republic of Buryatia and Head of the State Commission on Transport Alexei Tsydenov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Transport and Development of Transport Infrastructure Yevgeny Moskvichev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship Vladimir Gutenev, Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolayev, Governor of the Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin, representatives of regional and federal executive bodies, as well as of the expert and business communities.
Igor Levitin noted that the main goal was to ensure that the Government’s policies to support population, individual sectors of the economy and business fully take into account the specifics and needs of the Russian regions.
The participants noted that most Russian regions are currently facing rising prices for raw materials and components, dependence on imports, declining consumer demand, and logistics constraints.
The meeting participants also discussed the measures that need to be taken to minimise the impact of the sanctions on Russian industry and the transport system, to restore supply chains, provide soft loans, subsidise interest rate on loans for the purchase and lease of vehicles and equipment, speed up import substitution, and find new markets.
