In accordance with the Federal Law On the Police Force, the President issued executive orders on appointments to senior Interior Ministry posts in the North Caucasus.

Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order awarding the Order of Courage to Anas Pshikhachev, mufti, first deputy chair of the Coordinating Centre for Muslims in the North Caucasus and chair of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kabardino-Balkaria, for the courage and bravery he showed in performing his civic duties (posthumously).

Dmitry Medvedev sent his profound condolences to the family of Mufti of Kabardino-Balkaria Anas Pshikhachev and the republic’s entire Muslim community following the Mufti’s murder.

The party leaders presented to Dmitry Medvedev their list of candidates for the posts of the heads of Kabardino-Balkaria and Kaliningrad Region.

The President heard reports from Head of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov and Minister of the Interior Rashid Nurgaliyev on the investigation into the attack on the Baksan Hydroelectric Power Plant and a report by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin on his trip to Kabardino-Balkaria. Head of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Arsen Kanokov also took part in the meeting.
