Vladimir Putin met with permanent members of the Security Council.
The discussion focused on current issues on the domestic socioeconomic agenda. There was also an exchange of views on cyber security efforts.
Participants discussed the situation in Syria with an emphasis on the US strike on Syria the day before. It was noted that such actions were illegitimate and seriously hampered the process of establishing de-escalation zones and the entire intra-Syria settlement process.
Attending the meeting were Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
