Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order on appointing Anton Siluanov to the post of Finance Minister.

Dmitry Medvedev and European Council President Herman Van Rompuy met with members of Russia-EU Industrialists’ Round Table to discuss development prospects for trade and economic relations between Russia and the European Union.

The President presented banners to atamans of the Central, Don, Volga Yeniseysk, Trans-Baikal, Irkutsk, Kuban, Orenburg, Siberian, Terek, and Ussuriysk Cossack military societies. All these Cossack military societies have been entered in the State Register.

Letters of credence were presented by ambassadors of Angola, Bahrain, Belarus, Columbia, Costa Rica, Djibouti, Great Britain, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Iceland, Laos, Luxembourg, Spain, Syria, and Tunisia.

Vladimir Churov briefed the President on the results of State Duma elections held on December 4.

During a working meeting with Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Pavel Astakhov and Prosecutor General Yury Chaika, Dmitry Medvedev announced that he has signed into law amendments to a number of laws protecting children’s interests, in particular, the law on basic guarantees of children’s rights.

Dmitry Medvedev presented forum participants with Presidential letters of gratitude for pro-active attitude and public work for the benefit of Russia.

Dmitry Medvedev and Nikolai Tsukanov discussed issues pertaining to the implementation of visa-free travel between Kaliningrad Region and bordering districts in Poland, and further talks on this topic with Lithuania. Particular attention was given to the development of transport and tourism infrastructure in the region.
