Vladimir Putin met with President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.

Vladimir Putin held talks with President of the State Council and the Council of Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro, who is in Russia on a working visit.

Vladimir Putin held a meeting on implementing social policy measures set out in presidential executive orders, in particular, public-sector wage rises, state support for big families, and the education system’s development.

Vladimir Putin chaired the first meeting of the Presidential Commission for Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Environmental Security, which focused on the Commission’s priority areas of activity.

Vladimir Putin addressed a meeting of Russian ambassadors and permanent representatives. The theme of the meeting was Russia in a Changing World: Stable Priorities and New Opportunities.

Issues discussed included supplying modern weapons and equipment to the Land Forces and Airborne Troops, objectives for the future, and enhancing research and development in this field.

Current situation and prospects for further development of Russia’s military technology cooperation with foreign states were discussed at the meeting.

Director of the Moscow Kremlin museums Yelena Gagarina gave the President a tour of the Armoury’s halls and items in storage, and told him about the particularities of taking care of museum collections. 

At a meeting with members of the Government and the Federal Assembly leadership Vladimir Putin announced that he has signed the 2013–2015 Budget Address.

Vladimir Putin congratulated the graduates of military academies and universities on the successful completion of their studies.

Vladimir Putin took part in the Federation Council meeting. In his speech, he analysed the Federation Council’s work on enhancing Russia’s laws and also touched on issues such as the senators’ legal status and the principles governing the Federation Council’s formation.

Upon concluding his visit to the Middle Eastern, Vladimir Putin answered questions from Russian media representatives.
