Vladimir Putin met with permanent members of the Security Council.
The meeting participants had a thorough exchange of opinions in the context of the President’s international contacts earlier this week, including visits by foreign leaders and telephone conversations. The main focus was on the Syrian settlement in light of the results of the Sochi meeting between the presidents of Russia, Turkey and Iran.
Other issues discussed included Russia’s domestic socioeconomic agenda.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev and Director of the Federal Security Service Alexander Bortnikov.
