Meeting with permanent members of Security Council

Vladimir Putin met with permanent members of the Security Council.

The situation on the Korean Peninsula was discussed following the latest ballistic missile test by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

The President also informed the gathering about the results of the  CSTO summit in Minsk.

In addition, Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu reported on the results of his working visit to Egypt.

The domestic agenda focused on energy security in the regions in the context of the current winter season.

A number of other current issues were also discussed.

The meeting was attended by Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergey Naryshkin and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
