Meeting with permanent members of Security Council

Vladimir Putin had a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.

The discussion focused on the final stage of preparations for the Syrian National Dialogue Congress in Sochi.

Also on the agenda was the situation in Afrin and in that context the President informed the participants that he had discussed the matter over the phone with Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Meeting participants also touched upon current domestic socioeconomic issues.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
