Vladimir Putin held a briefing session with permanent members of the Security Council, via videoconference.
The participants discussed preparations for the nationwide voting day.
Opening the meeting, the President noted that this major domestic political event should be held at an appropriate level and the necessary security must be ensured.
Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev delivered a report on the subject.
Taking part in the meeting were Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Anton Vaino, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, Federal Security Service Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergei Naryshkin, and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
