Vladimir Putin and President of the Czech Republic Milos Zeman discussed trade and economic relations between the two countries and counter-terrorism efforts under the aegis of the United Nations.

The discussion focussed on bilateral relations and prospects for the development of cooperation between Russia and the European Union.

Vladimir Putin received letters of credence from eighteen ambassadors to the Russian Federation. The ceremony took place in the Grand Kremlin Palace’s St Alexander Hall.

Vladimir Putin met with Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas.

Vladimir Putin will meet on May 27 in Sochi with Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Necas, who will be in Russia on a working visit.

In Prague, Dmitry Medvedev and Czech President Vaclav Klaus held talks.

Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Vaclav Klaus on his 70^th birthday and noted his contribution to the steady development in Russian-Czech relations. The two presidents also exchanged views on preparations for Mr Medvedev’s visit to the Czech Republic at the end of the year. 

Dmitry Medvedev received letters of credence from ten new ambassadors to the Russian Federation from the Czech Republic, Gabon, Hungary, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Poland, Sierra-Leone, the Republic of South Africa and Ukraine.

The meeting took place as part of Dmitry Medvedev’s working visit to the Czech Republic.
