Dmitry Medvedev sent to the State Duma for ratification the Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland on Lease to Finland of the Russian Section of the Saimaa Canal and Adjoining Territory, and on Shipping through the Saimaa Canal, signed in Lappeenranta on May 27, 2010.

Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Vaclav Klaus on his 70^th birthday and noted his contribution to the steady development in Russian-Czech relations. The two presidents also exchanged views on preparations for Mr Medvedev’s visit to the Czech Republic at the end of the year.

The three presidents discussed the situation with the Iran’s nuclear programme and the need to maintain the nuclear weapons non-proliferation regime. Iran’s cooperation with the six-party group of international mediators, and making Tehran’s relations with the IAEA more transparent were among the issues discussed.

The summit’s agenda included regional security issues, combating drug trafficking, the situation in Afghanistan, and economic and humanitarian cooperation between the SCO member states. 

Dmitry Medvedev had talks with President of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbayeva, during which the two leaders discussed the current state of bilateral relations.
