Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order On Early Termination of the Mandate of St Petersburg Governor

Development of Krasnodar Territory’s resorts was the subject of discussion.

Mr Magomedov briefed the President on the socioeconomic situation in Daghestan, in particular the employment situation and schools’ preparations for the new academic year, spoke about the state of progress in carrying out a number of big investment projects in the agriculture sector, including international projects, and presented a project to establish a sturgeon breeding centre. 

The main subjects on the agenda at the meeting, chaired by the President, included issues of resolving environmental issues in the Volga River basin, preserving the river’s fauna and developing its fisheries, combating poaching, restoring the water system in the river’s delta, water resources protection efforts, and overhaul of hydro-technical installations.

During a trip to Astrakhan Region, Dmitry Medvedev visited an inspection station of the Federal Agency for Fishery.

The President and the Prime Minister sailed motorboats on the Volga, went fishing, and took a look at the river’s underwater life too, using a special camera to take underwater photos.

Dmitry Medvedev discussed current issues in the agriculture sector with agriculture workers from Krasnodar Territory, and congratulated them on this year’s record harvest.

The United Russia leaders presented to Dmitry Medvedev their list of candidates for the post of governor of Tula Region, and President of the United Russia Supreme Council Boris Gryzlov briefed the President on the primaries underway for candidates from the National Front in the run-up to the State Duma election.

Dmitry Medvedev signed the Order On Investment Ombudsmen in Federal Districts.

Dmitry Medvedev said that in his opinion the institute of investment ombudsmen at the federal level has proven effective. The President announced that he had signed an executive order conferring the status of investment ombudsmen on Deputy Presidential Envoys to Federal Districts (the Envoy’s aide in the Central Federal District) and those present are to report on the organisation of their work by October 1.

Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order On Early Termination of the Mandate of Tula Region Governor. The Executive Order appoints Vladimir Gruzdev acting head of the region.

Dmitry Medvedev informed the meeting participants that he has signed three laws aimed at further improving the national political system. In particular, these laws will help to reduce the number of election law violations.

Dmitry Medvedev discussed measures to improve the investment climate in Russia with representatives of the judicial community.

Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law on Personal Data.

Dmitry Medvedev and Nikolai Vinogradov discussed problems in preserving and restoring architectural monuments, possible transfer of buildings considered historical monuments to private ownership, and prospects for developing tourism in Vladimir Region, as well as national tourism overall.

Andrei Nelidov reported to the President on the forest fire situation in his republic and measures being taken to prevent the fires.
