Emergency Situations Minister Vladimir Puchkov and Governor of Primorye Territory Vladimir Miklushevsky briefed the President on the situation in Ussuriysk following floods in the region.

Vladimir Putin took part in the first Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. The current situation in the Russian economy and the Far East region’s investment attractiveness were the main subjects of the President’s address.

In the capital of Primorye, the President will take part in the first Eastern Economic Forum and meet with oil and gas industry representatives. He will also meet with China’s Vice Premier Wang Yang who is taking part in Forum events.

Mr Miklushevsky briefed Vladimir Putin on the socioeconomic situation in the region and discussed with the President programmes underway in the healthcare sector, housing construction, sports, and the situation in the fisheries industry.

Vladimir Putin visited the Far East Federal University’s laboratory centre and saw how the study process is going for Russian and foreign students.

While on a working trip to Vladivostok, Vladimir Putin visited the skills centre at Concern Morinformsystem-Agat JSC, at the Far East Federal University, where he looked at new transport and robotics technology.

Vladimir Putin gave the command via video linkup to launch the last of the ten turbines at the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Station that was damaged in an accident in 2009. The ceremony marked the completion of repair work and the station’s renewed operation at design capacity.

On the final day of his working trip to the Far Eastern Federal District, Sergei Ivanov visited Vladivostok.

The Governor of Primorye Territory briefed the President on the main indicators in the region’s social and economic development.

On the second day of his trip to Primorye Territory, Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov chaired a meeting on implementing presidential instructions on protecting the Amur tiger and Amur leopard. Mr Ivanov also met with Primorye Territory Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky.

Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Ivanov, who is also Chairman of the Eurasian Centre for the Study, Preservation and Rehabilitation of the Leopard Population, visited the Leopards’ Land national park in Primorye Territory while on a working visit to the Far East Federal District.
