The President submitted the candidacy of Vladimir Miklushevsky for the post of Primorye Territory governor for consideration by the Primorye Territory Duma.

The United Russia leaders presented to Dmitry Medvedev the party’s proposed candidacies for the posts of Governors of the Krasnodar and Primorye territories.

The President signed Executive Order On Early Termination of the Mandate of Primorye Territory Governor. The Executive Order appoints Vladimir Miklushevsky acting head of the region.

Dmitry Medvedev approved a list of instructions following a June 30 meeting on preparations for the 2012 APEC Leaders' week.

The region’s social and economic development, preparations for the APEC Summit, and developing the Far Eastern Federal University were the main subjects on the agenda.

Dmitry Medvedev visited the Komandor border patrol vessel, aboard which he had a meeting with Vladimir Pronichev on improving coastal security, in particular during the 2012 APEC Summit, as well as on anti-poaching efforts in the Far East

Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting on the Russky Island devoted to the preparations for and organisation of the 2012 APEC Summit week, which will be held in Primorye Territory.

In accordance with the Federal Law On the Police Force, the President issued executive orders on appointments to senior Interior Ministry posts.

Dmitry Medvedev signed Federal Law On Amendments to the Federal Law On the Organisation of the APEC 2012 Summit of Heads of State and Government of Member States of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Organisation, on the Development of Vladivostok as a Centre for International Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region, and Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation.

The towns received this honorary title for the courage, steadfast spirit, and mass heroism their defenders showed in the fight for their Fatherland’s freedom and independence. Mr Medvedev signed the orders conferring the titles in November 2010.

Dmitry Medvedev held a videoconference with residents of several regions throughout the country, as well as with governors and federal agencies. Following the videoconference, the President issued a series of instructions on social issues.

Dmitry Medvedev watched the exercises from aboard the nuclear-powered battle cruiser Peter the Great and held a meeting with the heads of the Defence Ministry, General Staff, and the Navy.

The region’s social and economic development was the main item on the agenda.

The President made a congratulatory speech at a gala concert – Vladivostok – Heart of the Ocean.
