The main topic of the meeting, chaired by the President, was improving the work of Russia’s arbitration courts.

Dmitry Medvedev held a videoconference with residents of several regions throughout the country, as well as with governors and federal agencies. Following the videoconference, the President issued a series of instructions on social issues.

Dmitry Medvedev and Nursultan Nazarbayev discussed the upcoming OSCE summit in Astana and bilateral relations.

The summit, held in the capital of Azerbaijan, was attended by the heads of five littoral states: President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The two heads of state discussed Iran’s nuclear programme and other issues.

Dmitry Medvedev and Ilham Aliyev reviewed issues of bilateral relations and further approaches to reaching settlement on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to organisers and participants of the International Summit of Economy and Politics Women Leaders, taking place in St Petersburg.

During a meeting in the Kremlin Dmitry Medvedev congratulated Russian athletes who became European and world champions in summer Olympic sports.

The presidents of Russia and Armenia discussed prospects for developing bilateral relations, the regional agenda, and ways to settle the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Dmitry Medvedev and Slovenian President Danilo Turk discussed bilateral investment cooperation in the energy sector, including on the South Stream project, and trade and economic cooperation.

The President of Russia and Prime Minister of Lebanon discussed, in particular, matters pertaining to further development and deepening of bilateral relations.

During the videoconference, Dmitry Medvedev and the Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area Dmitry Kobylkin discussed the socioeconomic situation in the region, in particular focusing on relocating the residents of dilapidated housing.

Dmitry Medvedev presented state decorations to the crew of the Tu-154 jet, which made a crash landing in the Komi Republic in September, saving the lives of over 70 passengers.

Dmitry Medvedev sent his greetings to participants of VIII International Forum Gas of Russia 2010 taking place in Moscow.
