Fighting wildfires and lifting the ban on grain exports were discussed.

Dmitry Medvedev and Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj discussed the development of political dialogue and promising areas of trade and economic cooperation,and exchanged views on international issues, including the situation in Central and Southeast Asia.

Alexei Miller reported to Dmitry Medvedev on gas supplies to the domestic market and European consumers. The discussion also focused on Russian-Ukrainian gas cooperation.

Dmitry Medvedev chaired a meeting of the Commission for Modernisation and Technological Development of Russia’s Economy held at I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University. The meeting was dedicated to Innovation Technology in Children’s Healthcare.

Taking part in the discussion with Dmitry Medvedev were scientists from universities in the USA, Japan, Britain, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and other countries, who were among the winners of the Russian Education and Science Ministry’s first tender for organising and carrying out research and development work at Russian universities.

Dmitry Medvedev discussed measures to fight extremism at a meeting with the heads of law enforcement and security agencies, plenipotentiary presidential envoys in the federal districts, and a number of regional governors.

Dmitry Medvedev took part in the first St Petersburg International Legal Forum. The plenary session’s theme was Law as an instrument of innovative and secure development of the global world.

Dmitry Medvedev and Gennady Zyuganov discussed the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.

Dmitry Medvedev and President of Austria Heinz Fischer discussed trade and economic ties, the implementation of joint projects in energy and transport, in particular the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline and the extension of a broad-gauge railway, as well as cooperation in science, technology and the humanitarian sphere.

Mr Shuvalov briefed Dmitry Medvedev on the progress in implementing presidential instructions aimed at improving the investment climate in Russia. 

Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting on children’s health development in the pre-school and school system, focusing, in particular, on organising medical assistance and meals in kindergartens and schools.

Dmitry Medvedev and President of the Republic of Slovenia Danilo Turk discussed current international issues, in particular Russia’s European Security Treaty initiative, and possible solutions to a number of regional conflicts.

Dmitry Medvedev discussed the development of Russia’s political system with young parliamentary deputies.

The President visited the assembly room of Kostroma’s Regional Duma and spoke with regional leaders of United Russia, Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, and Just Russia parties.
