Vladimir Putin chaired the 36^th meeting of the Russian Victory Organising Committee at the Grand Kremlin Palace. Great Patriotic War veterans and heads of veteran and youth public organisations also took part in the meeting.

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.

Vladimir Putin signed Executive Order On a One-Time Payment to Certain Categories of Citizens of the Russian Federation in Connection with the 70^th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.

The President paid tribute to fallen soldiers by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier by the Kremlin wall. 

In the run-up to the Defenders of the Fatherland holiday, Vladimir Putin presented medals commemorating the 70^th anniversary of Victory in the 1941–1945 Great Patriotic War to war veterans.
