Vladimir Putin signed Executive Orders on the 2011 Russian Federation National Awards for outstanding achievements in science and technology, literature and arts, and humanitarian work. 

Dmitry Medvedev signed Executive Order On Awarding the 2012 Russian Federation National Award named after the Marshal of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov.

Winners of the 2011 prizes were opera singer Venera Gimadiyeva, performer Mansur Musayev and architect Arseny Chakrygin.

On Russia Day in the Kremlin’s St George Hall, Dmitry Medvedev presented National Awards to the best representatives of the Russian science and art.

The ceremony, timed to coincide with the Russian Science Day, took place at the St Catherine Hall in the Kremlin. The Presidential Prize in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists is awarded to Russian citizens for a significant contribution to the development of national science and innovation in order to encourage the future research and create a positive environment for new scientific discoveries and innovative achievements.
