Vladimir Putin had a working meeting with Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev to discuss the spring sowing campaign.

The President has approved a list of instructions following his working trip to Krasnodar Territory on March 12, 2018.

Vladimir Putin took part in the plenary session of the National Forum of Agricultural Producers. The forum opened on March 11 at the Kuban State Agrarian University in Krasnodar.

Special consideration was given to efforts to reduce the regional budget’s numerous debts.

Vladimir Putin congratulated agroindustry workers on their professional holiday – Agriculture and Processing Industry Workers' Day.

Agriculture and Processing Industry Workers' Day is marked annually on the second Sunday of October.

Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Government members to discuss import substitution in industry and agriculture. Other subjects of discussion included preparations for children’s summer holidays, work on the draft law on responsible treatment of animals, and the programme to build or reconstruct village cultural centres.

Vladimir Putin signed the Federal Law On Amendments to Articles 1 and 9 of the Federal Law On the Safe Use of Pesticides and Agro-Chemicals.

Mr Patrushev briefed Vladimir Putin on the bank’s results for 2016, in particular, with regard to lending to the agribusiness sector and small and medium-sized enterprises. Other matters discussed included the situation on the agricultural risk insurance market.

Agriculture Minister Alexander Tkachev updated the President on the launch of a new system of subsidised loans for agricultural producers and the situation in agriculture.

In Sochi, Vladimir Putin held a meeting with representatives of rice-producing agricultural enterprises.
