Dmitry Medvedev submitted to the State Duma draft Federal Law On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation in Connection with Improving Public Anti-Corruption Management.

Dmitry Medvedev discussed topical social and political issues with representatives of federal and regional governing bodies of the United Russia political party.

Dmitry Medvedev took part in a national coordination meeting of heads of law enforcement agencies. The main subjects on the agenda were counterterrorism security, fighting organised crime, combating corruption and extremism, and bolstering public law and order.

Dmitry Medvedev submitted to the State Duma draft Federal Law On Amendments to the Russian Federation Criminal Code and the Russian Federation Administrative Offences Code Aimed at Improvement of State Policy in Countering Corruption.

The President announced the law’s signing at a meeting examining the Interior Ministry’s main areas of work. Mr Medvedev congratulated the meeting’s participants and everyone in the Interior Ministry on the news, and said that they now need to make sure they measure up to the new law’s demands.

Dmitry Medvedev held an expanded meeting of the board of the Federal Security Service (FSB).

Dmitry Medvedev approved a list of instructions issued following a January 13 meeting of the Council for Countering Corruption.

The results of the Civic Chamber's efforts in 2010, future development of civil society and the role of social institutions in promoting civil accord and combating corruption were the subjects of discussion.

A regular meeting of the Council for Countering Corruption took place in the Kremlin.

Mr Stepashin briefed Dmitry Medvedev on the Accounts Chamber’s efforts to expose financial offences.

Agreement for the Establishment of the International Anti-Corruption Academy as an International Organisation was signed on December 29, 2010, in Vienna.

Mr Sobyanin briefed Dmitry Medvedev on the results of implementing presidential anti-corruption instructions, and on the progress of work to address Moscow’s traffic jams. 

Current state anti-corruption policy issues were the subject of discussion.

Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Naryshkin chaired a meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Countering Corruption.

The meeting discussed employment, education and healthcare development issues, and attracting investment to the region.

Dmitry Medvedev issued instructions to the Government aimed at raising budget spending efficiency and preventing corruption in tenders for the procurement of medical equipment for state and municipal needs.
