The Brazilian President will visit Russia at Dmitry Medvedev’ invitation. The two leaders will hold talks on May 14, 2010.

Dmitry Medvedev and Turkish President Abdullah Gul discussed trade and economic cooperation, joint efforts to fight extremism and terrorism, the situation in the Southern Caucasus, the Iranian nuclear programme, the Middle East peace process, and cooperation in the Black Sea region. 

The visit’s main events will take place on Wednesday, May 12, 2010.

Upon completion of President of Russia’s visit to Syria, Dmitry Medvedev and President of Syria Bashar al-Assad met with the leader of Hamas political bureau Khaled Mashal.

The President of Russia awarded the Patriarch the Order of Friendship.

During the talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Dmitry Medvedev expressed confidence that the current friendly relations between Russia and Syria will continue in the future.

The President arrived at the Burnazyan Federal Medical Biophysical Centre, where four coal miners from Kuzbass injured by explosions are treated.

The President instructed Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to set up a government commission to address the consequences of the accident at the Raspadskaya Mine and provide assistance to the families of those killed and injured.

President of China Hu Jintao is in Moscow to take part in celebrating the 65^th anniversary of Victory over Nazism.

Attending the reception at the Kremlin were Great Patriotic War veterans and foreign heads of state, who came to Moscow to take part in the 65^th anniversary of Victory celebrations.

A total of 11,335 servicemen took part in the parade, with Russian Armed Forces troops joined on Red Square by servicemen from 13 other countries, including Britain, the USA, France, Poland, and the CIS countries. Around 3,000 veterans watched from the guest tribunes.

The summit concluded with the adoption of a joint message from the CIS heads of state to war veterans and those who toiled on the home front on the 65^th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
